February 22nd, 2010

I have recently sent my case statement to five local Sarasota philanthropists. In the process of learning how to write a case statement, I realized that there are actually two types of case statements. One being an Internal case statement and the other being an External case statement. <p>

An internal case statement is a comprehensive (5-10) page statement that serves as the foundation of an organizations promotional efforts. An external statement is typically no longer than one page and briefly summarizes 1. mission 2.Goals. 3. Objectives 4. History and 5. Structure 6. Fundraising.

I hope you find this as educating as I did.

Regards,

David Johnson

Thanks, that was very helpful and informative. I didn’t know what a case statement is until now. I would be interested to see your case statement if you don’t mind sharing it on your blog. :)

Sounds like you have learned some good facts while researching your project. Are the reports internal of a company and external of a company or is that just a coincidence.

I also found out about the different types of statements, David!

I am so psyched to get into the heart of this process . . . I can hardly stand it!

Looking forward to reading what else you discover.

Thank you for the heads up, David. I did not have as much luck as you in finding information on the case statment. Mine ended up being 2 1/2 pages. I had all of the elements you listed, though.

Oh, wow Dave. I never knew any of that stuff; then again, I am in a different track. I am glad you are making good progress and learning all this. I am grateful to be finally making some progress in this major for once.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I will post an example of the case statement Izane. Jd Miles, yes both the internal and external case statement is relative to their destination.
