Mcooper and classmates. The Dao temple claims to have no affiliation with Buddhism or Taoism. Mcooper, I am also familiar with the Tao Te Ching and Lao Tzu, but I am confident that the Shien Deh Temple is not related and if in any way simply exists as a long distant subset of ancient teachings. My focus is to obtain funding for grounds upkeep, more specifically the trimming of the temples gigantic trees which provide shade and comfort for temple visitors.
After the submission of my edited statement of need, I have realized that #1. I dreamt to large and out of the assignments direction when I created my own company to work for. And #2ndly: I dream to small…that is…my request for six hundred dollars for the funding of grounds upkeep is not an “urgent” need….
…I feel as though the individuals who do not believe that tree trimming and beautification of temple grounds is an “urgent” need….obviously have not stepped foot onto…into…or…around a Dao temple. The temple staff as well as myself believe that a well manicured environment (in) and (outside) of the temple is crucial for the preservation of the sanctuary-like atmosphere that these non-religious yet serene environments provide.
MCooper, the temple is supported by “Merit- contributions” and more specifically the personal funds of certain members whom have devoted their entire lifetime to the cultivation while on their own (Dao). “The way” …so in other words, people who attend temple ceremonies do not have the obligation to contribute money to the temple…but if you do, you will have become a “financial supporter”.
I will share more information as I learn more about the organization

Every interesting blog post Johnson. I am intrigued by a temple that is not religious. I think we need more places like this in our world that have no specific religious ties or agenda. You should not have to believe in a certain set of rules to be able to enjoy a serene environment or place of gathering.
Does the temple have any “urgent” needs that you could write a grant for instead of the upkeep of trees and grounds?
yeah
