ENC 4931 Post #1
Hello,
My name is David Johnson. This is a blog that documents my progress and all of its subsequent experiences while taking Professor Robert’s Senior Seminar for Professional and Technical Writing course at the University of South Florida. I have chosen to proceed through Professor Robert’s course on the nonprofit writing track. I chose this track because it is completely foreign and will prove to be a great learning experience.
I have found multiple local nonprofit organizations in which to contact. Deciding on which one to pursue was the difficult part. For example, I wanted to volunteer my services to a runaway shelter called Fame Haven in Sarasota Florida. I felt as though the writing process for this runaway shelter would prove to be both rewarding and educational. But regardless of my research into respected nonprofit organizations like Fame Haven, I have chosen to create my own nonprofit organization and develop a professional grant proposal for it. I have chosen this direction because I find it fitting for my career path.(Which I am not sharing)
My experience in the field of energy has provided me with enough information to begin the writing process . I have already developed a nonprofit organization called (GES) or Global Energy Services. GES is in constant need of funding for ongoing projects throughout the world, but more specifically in eastern Russia and Siberia. This nonprofit organization works to provide free energy to designated energy grids where impoverished citizens dwell. The type of Energy will be discussed in later blogs.
Regards,
David

Interesting route to choose! I am eager to see how you work through the process of growing, evolving, and funding this adventure. I am also interested in learning more about your future career path . . .

Great blog David, thank you for your thoughts on the project; they are incredibly helpful and informative.
I also can not share my career path as it is in espionage. Inventing your own non-profit company will be enjoyable I can only imagine. David sounds like you know what you want to get out of this class. That will be helpful to all in developing a meaningful and enriching learning experience.
This sounds like a great project David. I look forward to seeing where your project goes. Good luck to you.
Thank you for all the comments. Though the concept was exiting to develop, I will be changing it.
